Amanda Jamison
Special Education Support Teacher
Amanda graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in environmental conservation and has enjoyed working in many educational settings. A summer spent teaching at a national park in North Dakota sparked her interest in education. Having taught environmental education at a YMCA camp and on educational farms, Amanda appreciates watching awe emerge in a student, confidence and agency grow, and a smile and sometimes laughter after trying something new or mastering a skill or concept. Amanda taught at The Mill School, a program in Freedom for homeschooled students, and feels grateful to have worked closely with students over the years. Most recently, at Mt. View Middle School in Thorndike, Amanda worked as a math interventionist and has developed a love of teaching math. She is honored to work with both the students and staff at The Ecology Learning Center.
