He looks forward to sharing his three years of industry experience as a data scientist—applying mathematical and statistical techniques to solve real-world problems. Gideon holds a Bachelor’s in Applied Mathematics (specializing in Control Engineering) from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Master’s in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Maine. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys playing soccer, rugby and wrestling, believing that teamwork, strategy and resilience on the field mirror the critical thinking and perseverance required in both teaching and data science.
