Al worked for decades in a wide range of specialty trades, including Linotype machinist for a newspaper company and machinist repairing equipment and buildings. Al worked for the fire department on an ambulance for 10 years, owned his own carpentry business, and worked for the city of Concord wastewater plant and highway. He happily says, “I don’t do anything that feels like a job.” His hobby is woodworking.
