Special Education Director

With over three decades of dedication to Maine public education, Terri Church’s career embodies her deep-rooted commitment to local students and schools. Her journey began at the very foundation of the school system as a custodian in RSU 53 as she attended college. A few years into her journalism career, and with the knowledge she was going to be a mother, she transitioned into the classroom, spending nearly 20 years as a special educator for RSU 3.Terri later stepped into leadership roles within RSU 13, first serving as the assistant principal at Oceanside High School before stepping into her current role as the assistant special education director. Terri raised her son in Troy, watching him graduate from Mt. View High School. Today, that legacy of learning continues: her son has followed her footsteps and now serves as a math educator and coach at Maine Central Institute (MCI). In a true full circle moment, starting his educational career where she did thirty years ago.
