American Chestnut Planting

We will be planting chestnut seedlings at the Albert J. Sousa Preserve in Burnham SRLT.  Last year at Sousa, we established a partnership with The American Chestnut Foundation (TACF) by planting a native chestnut (Castanea dentata) orchard.  Last year’s record drought caused high seedling mortality at the orchard, so we will supplement the site with replacement seedlings.

Sousa Preserve | Srlt (sebasticookrlt.org) at 8:00 AM on Saturday, June 19.  Bring work gloves and water.  We should be finished before noon.  Come and join in the fun by volunteering for SRLT and TACF.
