American Chestnut Planting

We will be planting chestnut seedlings at the Albert J. Sousa Preserve in Burnham SRLT.  Last year at Sousa, we established a partnership with The American Chestnut Foundation (TACF) by planting a native chestnut () orchard.  Last year’s record drought caused high seedling mortality at the orchard, so we will supplement the site with replacement seedlings.Castanea dentata
