Galen’s experience with the Spanish language started as a child, listening to “Rapanese” Spanish learning tapes in the car. He continued to gain more exposure to the language throughout his schooling, but it was after his first trip to Guatemala at age 18 that a real desire for fluency set in. After two more trips back to the country, and a total of six months spent taking one-on-one Spanish lessons five days a week, whilst living with a Guatemalan host family, Galen feels he can now confidently call himself fluent-ish. Galen is very excited to be joining the team at the Ecology Learning Center, and to share his love for the Spanish language, and the joys of learning it with his students.
